  1. And one species intro to close off this Dutch series! Heavily obscured, but that illustrates the skulking nature of that beast!
    Both its English and scientific names relate to its striking mechanical song, which sounds remarkably like the trill of a cricket, and it the best way to locate these birds.

The common grasshopper warbler is a species of Old World warbler in the grass warbler genus ''Locustella''. It breeds across much of temperate Europe and the western Palearctic. It is migratory, wintering in north and west Africa.
