    1. Thanks! The snake, although alert, was super chill. I literally crawled within 10 cm of it. It didn't budge after I took pictures of it, but stayed and watched me while I examined a mushroom. Posted 4 years ago

The Common Garter Snake is a snake indigenous to North America. Most garter snakes have a pattern of yellow stripes on a brown or green background and their average length is about 50 cm, maximum about 125 cm.
