    1. In areas where they come into frequent contact with people they loose the fear of humans. This can be a problem as they can get quite aggressive and can inflict nasty bite wounds. The one in the photo alwise came at night feeding on the lawn as it was about the only green grass at the time. At night you could hear it eating in front of the bedroom window.By the way i must add that baby wombats ( often orphaned) which need hand rearranging make the most adorable pets inverte had to work with. The common wombat , also known as the coarse-haired wombat or bare-nosed wombat, is a marsupial, one of three species of wombats and the only one in the genus ''Vombatus''. The common wombat grows to an average of 98 cm long and a weight of 26 kg .
