Whitemouth Dayflower (Commelina erecta) The Whitemouth Dayflower, one of the most common wild flowers in Trinidad and Tobago. While this plant is considered a "weed" by most, they are frequently visited by many species of insects, notably moths and butterflies. These are quite common in our lawn as I try to leave some wild areas as opposed to cutting the entire lawn, as that way we can see many native species of flowers.
