
''Monochamus carolinensis'' is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Guillaume-Antoine Olivier in 1792. It is known from Canada and the United States.

As a side note -- this beetle was sooo cute! One of the oriental beetles landed on its foot and got stuck. So, the Carolina pine sawyer started squeaking and squealing while trying to free itself. It sounded so pathetic, but adorable. I had to intervene to free it, after which it scurried off out of reach of the oriental beetles, who have no concept of personal space.
