  1. Very interesting and, I guess, rarely observed species, Claude. I hardly managed to find some scarce information about it. Great find! Posted 4 years ago
    1. Thanks for the species creation, Jivko, looks like we were going at it at the exact same time :)
On point, a little while ago I was hoping we could get to 1,500 species this year. Things somehow have accelerated since then and now we're only 10 away!

      1. You mean 1,500 species of beetles? Yes really. I hadn't paid attention to that, but it's really a remarkable achievement! Posted 4 years ago
        1. I think it really is! And after that we'll do the other 299,000 in no time. Posted 4 years ago
          1. Wow, no doubt!
Ferdy, do you have an analysis what is the growth of the added new species every year since the creation of the site?

            1. I can maybe create that report once I have more time, but for now maybe this answers the question: new species added per week is usually between 50-100, and this number is surprisingly stable, has been like this for at least a few years. I think 60 would be a good conservative average, so that means at least 3,000 per year. Posted 4 years ago
