He Came For a Visit! For weeks this House Wren has been singing his heart out in the shore pines around our house and for weeks I’ve tried to take a clear photo of him. What a surprise that while reading a book, there he was on the railing outside the living room window. He wasn’t singing but he did stay long enough for me to grab a photo or two. The house wren is a very small songbird of the wren family, Troglodytidae. It occurs from Canada to southernmost South America, and is thus the most widely distributed bird in the Americas. It occurs in most suburban areas in its range and it is the single most common wren.
