  1. Its always so sad to hear of a species being extinct in the wild, however heartwarming to know that someone is actually doing something about it.
Considering the rarity of these animals and the fact that there is a breeding programme, maybe this is something that could be included in the 'competition' for the next donation???

    1. Just for your information, according to Wikipedia: "As of 2015, the number of deer living in the wild is 700. The average annual population growth rate for Père David’s deer in Tianezhou Nature Reserve was 22.2%." So I think that saying that it is extinct in the wild is no longer true - YIPPEE! 1. It means 'milu'. It's the chinese name for this animal, that is native to the subtropics of China :) Posted 12 years ago
      1. And a great test to see if JungleDragon supports Unicode. Yes it does :)

On topic: excellent photo, enough reason for a new list:

        1. That is a brilliant list. I know I was going to start an endangered species list, I am sorry but work has just got the better of me recently. Posted 12 years ago
      2. Thanks for the translation - there's always something new to learn around here, including Chinese! Posted 12 years ago
  3. Funny title, the only thing I can read in Chinese is Ni Hao;) Posted 12 years ago
