  2. The area where we live have a couple of nature preserves some with lakes and other are just bush reserves so we get a variety of wildlife. As you can now see I found by pressing the right buttons areas of your website I didn't know about. it is an amazing forum for nature photograph nuts to go, so thanks to you. Posted 12 years ago

The laughing kookaburra is a bird in the kingfisher subfamily Halcyoninae. It is a large robust kingfisher with a whitish head and a brown eye-stripe. The upperparts are mostly dark brown but there is a mottled light-blue patch on the wing coverts.
