
Orthodes majuscule - Rustic Quaker
TL: ~20 mm. Reddish brown forewing with pale yellow/tan lines. The postmedial line kinks inward near the costa. The large, orbicular and reniform spots nearly touch. The thoracic collar has a black triangle just behind the head.
Habitat: Attracted to a 395 nm LED light in a semi-rural area

"Orthodes majuscula", the rustic Quaker, is a moth of the family Noctuidae. The species was first described by Gottlieb August Wilhelm Herrich-Schäffer in 1868. It is widespread throughout the New World, including eastern North America, Cuba, Mexico, Costa Rica and Brazil.
