Palm Tanager (Thraupis palmarum) A Palm Tanager on an overcast day. I took this photo last year, while I was still learning the basics of bird photography (and I still am), I used my low megapixel body and my 75-300mm kit lens to take this photo. I noticed there is a lot of chromatic aberration but I still decided to upload it lol. 2. If you wouldn't have mentioned it, would not have noticed the aberration. Posted 3 days ago
    1. Then I probably shouldn't have mentioned that lol. I find that those kit lenses really tend to cause the chromatic aberration because for the past six months I've been using a Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary and I've not gotten any aberration since. Posted 3 days ago
      1. Definitely true that it shows up more in cheaper glass, in particular in white sky photos (backlight). It can be somewhat fixed in post processing. Posted 3 days ago

The palm tanager is a medium-sized passerine bird. This tanager is a resident breeder from Nicaragua south to Bolivia, Paraguay and southern Brazil. It also breeds on Trinidad and, since 1962, on Tobago. In Trinidad and Tobago, it is known by colloquial names such as the "palmiste" and the "green jean".
