  1. Oh wow. Invasives can be so frustrating. We have so many here as well. I wish people would learn more about beautiful native alternatives! Posted 4 years ago

      1. I'd love to see your favorite native "ornamentals"! :) Posted 4 years ago
        1. Went to check out a special Callistemon Megalongensis today which is critically endangered however not flowering at present! It has a gorgeous pink/purple flower!
Not much around at present as we are going into our winter.

          1. Is it already getting pretty cold in your area?

Here in the southeastern US, we have hot temperatures well into Fall (especially with climate change)! We are just getting into summer temperatures this week, and I'm not so happy about it. We are expecting to get up to 36C by tomorrow or Thursday!

            1. Yes it is getting cold thankfully! Being in the mountains it is generally colder here however we rarely get snow. We have actually seen temperatures in the 40C during summer which was unheard of 10 years ago. Always had bushfires as we live in a world heritage national park and Eucalypts are highly flammable. 1. Same here with the snow. We get snow (that sticks) maybe once in a decade. The 40C temps are normal for us in late summer/early fall. In recent years we have even gotten up to 45C (which was quite alarming). We have had more flooding than drought in recent years, but we had really bad wildfires in 2016. I worry about them popping up again as Georgia is mostly covered in badly managed old growth forests.

How are officials handling wildfires in your area? Are any measures being taken to prevent them?
