I always screw up identifying ladybugs, so I'll await help this time :) This one seems to have very little spots.

  1. I think it is another Harlequin ladybird and a very beautiful shot.
    This one has almost no spots at all.

  2. There are two other insects on this photo, did you see them?

    There is a green one on the middle branch that looks like a flower and a brown aphid beneath it, probably the ladybird's next meal.

    1. Wow, completely missed them. As I was shooting this I was completely focused on the ladybug as the wind was bouncing the wheat up and down, making focusing impossible. Any idea what the green bug is?

      PS: I love how thorough you can be :)

      1. Good question that I have been trying to answer since I first saw it. The closest match I could find for now is a capsid bug (Miridae).
        Nice camouflage.

"Harmonia axyridis", most commonly known as the harlequin, multicoloured Asian, or Asian ladybeetle, is a large coccinellid beetle. This is one of the most variable species in the world, with an exceptionally wide range of colour forms.
