Spider Ant With unusually long legs and antennae, this narrow-bodied ant looked more like a spider. It moved swiflty actoss the ground with its body held high and occasionally with its abdomen held vertically. The thorax, abdomen and legs were black with a bluish shimmer. The rest of the ant was a reddish brown.<br />

    1. I would have missed it, mistaking it for a spider but Mark saw a similar one a few feet away and asked me to have a closer look at this one....I was blown away ! It moved so like a spider. Fortunately mine stayed away from the leaf debris for a few seconds so I could get some shots. Posted 4 years ago
