Spiders - Larinioides cornutus (Male) and Pirata sp. The larger spider resting on the flower is a furrow orb spider (Larinioides cornutus). It had the petals stuck together over its head as a shelter. I peeled a couple loose to get the photo. The smaller spider is a pirate wolf spider (Pirata sp.). It might have been a juvenile trying to balloon as it kept sticking its butt in the air.
Since I don't know the species ID for the pirate wolf spider, I'm setting the ID for this spotting as Larinioides cornutus for the larger spider.
1. Sooo, I got educated on FB and iNat. It turns out that these are not male and female. They are separate species that are interacting/just happen to be on the same flower. Check out the description for the details! Posted 4 years ago

    1. Agree that males have it tough! I got some ID help for these spiders, and they are actually different species! See the info for the details :). Posted 4 years ago
      1. Oh, still may become a meal if the tiny one is not careful :-)
BTW, so cool that the larger spider made a shelter like this (probably for a siesta :-))
