    1. I wouldn't doubt it at this point. :D A bit late in the season now though. Too warm! Posted 4 years ago
      1. It's suddenly hot here too. Last week I was freezing, and today it is going to be 80! 90's by mid-week. Posted 4 years ago
        1. :O WOAH! That is hotter than it will be here! We are supposed to stay in the mid to high 80s. Maybe up to 90F by Sunday. Posted 4 years ago
          1. Ick! I would have liked to have some high 60's/low 70's before jumping right into summer weather. At least it isn't humid yet, at least not here...I'm guessing it's humid for you though. Posted 4 years ago
  2. That's quite an interesting species! Posted 4 years ago
    1. I was enamored, Wesley! It was so calm and beautiful! Posted 4 years ago
  3. What a beautiful beast! Easy to miss, I would guess. Posted 4 years ago
    1. I actually didn't notice it at first, but Jason is a bit quicker than me (I think we've spoken about our partners and their abilities to find things before us?). I probably would have seen it eventually, however, as it is almost in the exact location that I found this:

Jason was startled as he doesn't really have a lot of ID skills, and snakes are not something we encounter daily. I don't blame him for being wary. We have a handful of venomous species here, so it is only a matter of time before I get to document one (carefully). We always watch our step because you just never know! Jason saw a timber rattlesnake last summer (on our road) when he was leaving for work. Copperheads are sure to abound too (they are super common in this region), and I saw them multiple times as a child; unfortunately, they blend in PERFECTLY with leaf litter!

      1. Good thinking for sure. I imagine hundreds of snakes have seen you without you seeing them. Best not to think about that too much :) Posted 4 years ago
