  1. One evening, as we were washing our clothes in the river, we suddenly noticed a nightjar hawking over the water near us. The next morning, I went to look around the rocks where I had seen him come from, and I found a lovely pair roosting low over the water, their drab plumage giving them excellent camouflage against the stone.
    This is mister (note the long tail)...

The ladder-tailed nightjar is a species of bird in the family Caprimulgidae, the nightjars. It is one of two species in the genus Hydropsalis.
