Green Dock Beetle (Gastrophysa viridula) I have posted another photograph of this Beetle but wanted to show it at a different angle, I am almost convinced it is a Tansy Beetle even though reading around the subject it would appear they are peculiar to Yorkshire, UK. I would like to stretch my neck out a little further and say may be they are not as specific to one area in the UK as reports have suggested. <br />

Green Dock Beetle (Gastrophysa viridula)

  3. Just looking at some Chrysomelinae on JD and I have to disappoint but this is not Chrysolina graminis, nor another Chrysolina for that matter. It is the very common Gastrophysa viridula (Green Dock Beetle). Ch. graminis is more than twice the size (measured in volume ;o) - I think we may well already have some graminis on JD currently under different names (difficult to ID from photo) but these are quite recognizably not (narrow habitus, rough puntuation and spined apex of tibia). I'll upload some graminis for reference next. I'll take the liberty to change the ID here :o)
