Yellow Gentian (Frasera caroliniensis)
Despite feeling physically and mentally worn down, I was determined to get out today. I was hoping to catch this large local colony in bloom for the first time, and I was rewarded greatly! I've only ever seen their leaves, towering stalks, and seed pods. This species is considered Vulnerable (S3) in Georgia. Murray County, GA, US. May 2021.

''Frasera caroliniensis'', commonly known as American columbo or yellow gentian, is a herbaceous perennial of the gentian family Gentianaceae found in the deciduous forest of Southern Ontario and throughout the eastern and southeastern United States. It was previously known as ''Swertia caroliniensis''.
