  1. Oh this is one of our well known natives here in Australia. So it's over in the US as well. Prolific seed producer and has become naturalised in regions well outside its natural ranges even in this country. Unfortunately helped by human planting as it does make for a smashing ornamental tree. Posted 4 years ago
    1. Yes, a lot of people in cities/towns are planting it ornamentally, and it is spreading like wildfire. Highly invasive from what I'm hearing/seeing. The Princess Tree (Paulownia tomentosa) and Privet (Ligustrum vulgare) are others that we are fighting here in the southern US. Posted 4 years ago

Melia azedarach is a species of deciduous tree in the mahogany family, Meliaceae, that is native to Indomalaya and Australasia. The genus "Melia" includes four other species, occurring from southeast Asia to northern Australia. They are all deciduous or semi-evergreen trees.
