Crown gall disease on roots of Hop

I´m assuming these "galls" on the roots of Hop to be caused by Rhizobium radiobacter (previously known as Agrobacterium tumefaciens), but not at all sure ... corrections or other suggestions welcome!

    1. Yes, there was plenty more where that came from, but also lots and lots of "healthy" roots that were designated as "uninvited" ... impressively strong and tenacious roots on that Hop! *rolleyes* Posted 4 years ago

''Agrobacterium tumefaciens'' is the causal agent of crown gall disease in over 140 species of eudicots. It is a rod-shaped, Gram-negative soil bacterium. Symptoms are caused by the insertion of a small segment of DNA, from a plasmid into the plant cell, which is incorporated at a semi-random location into the plant genome.
