      Indeed! Males do have a small iridescent throat patch, but this was a female. Posted 4 years ago

The Black metaltail

The black metaltail is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae. It is endemic to Peru and possibly stretches to northern Chile and Bolivia. Within the latter two countries it is possible that there may be speciation or separate subspecies but more research is required.
