    1. That would be great Paul, to have a neighbour that appreciates all the fauna that most would deem unworthy of love and attention. My neighbours think I have a screw loose. Although I do understand the reticence over bull ants, they are feared more than our famed redbacks for example in a way, so incredibly defensive, they track you from a metre or more, (phenomenal eyesight) and will actively engage rather than flee - this one had been 'charging' me for quite a while as I attempted a shot. And that's with no interference from me, they just want you gone! Posted 4 years ago

''Myrmecia brevinoda'' is a species of bull ant which is only native to Australia. These ants are only found in the eastern Australian states of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and the Australian Capital Territory. It was first discovered in 1910.
