Bed Bug - Cimex lectularius

Bedbugs are a nuisance pest. Their primary host is humans and they are not known to transmit disease. Individuals have been found that were infected with MRSA, but the significance of this, if any, is unknown. They suck blood and their bites can cause irritation, allergic reactions, and psychological problems.

  yep. I have read that their bites are nearly painless, but that is so not true. I let one feed on me once to see what it was like and it hurt...a lot. Although, it may have hurt more bc I knew it was feasting on me. Anyway, it was so cool to watch it fill with blood. Posted 4 years ago

      True story...I let it feed on me out of curiosity, but also because an entomologist friend of mine was rearing them and couldn't get them to feed on a non-human. She was too scared to let them feed on her, so I volunteered. Posted 4 years ago
