Elidothynnus melleus - Large Yellow Flower Wasp

It was a very hot day with temperatures around 40 Celsius and this wasp amongst several other species sheltered on the shade side of a eucalyptus tree.

  That is very interesting. I can’t remember how I identified it. All I can assume at this stage that it might be an introduced species. I however haven’t found any literature about a possible unintended introduction of this species into Australia. Thanks for your input, it is very much appreciated. Posted 2 years ago
