Geranium plume moth - Sphenarches anisodactylus I do have geranium plants in the garden. Maybe in its caterpillar stage it was feeding on them.? It&rsquo;s wingspan was approximately 12 mm.<br />
Geranium plume moth seems to be a collective name for different species in genus Sphenarches. It might be the first recording of this species in South Australia, if I have the correct identification. Sphenarches anisodactylus is a moth of the family Pterophoridae. It is found in western Africa, Madagascar, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan, the New Hebrides and Central and South America, as well as Australia, where it has been recorded from Cape York to central New South Wales. It is also present in the United States, where it has been recorded from Florida, as well as Mississippi.
