Lace Monitor ( Varanidae) Lace Monitor also known as Goannas.  Long slender neck, narrow head, pointed snout, powerful limbs, muscular tail, smooth scales and fork tongue. Found over most of Australia.  They can run fast and their safety plan is to climb up trees or if you don't see them they will climb up humans just to get to higher  ground. The lace monitor or tree goanna is a member of the monitor lizard family native to eastern Australia. A large lizard, it can reach 2 m in total length and 14 kg in weight. The lace monitor is considered to be a least-concern species according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
