  1. There are more than a dozen bird species that are only found along the dry Marañón valley and its tributaries, in northern Peru and southwestern Ecuador, and in my opinion, this one is the prettiest!
    It's also a new family for JD :)

The Marañón crescentchest is a species of bird in the family Melanopareiidae. It is found in the Andes of far southern Ecuador and northern Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest and subtropical or tropical dry shrubland. It is threatened by habitat loss.
