Peron's tree frog
I went out in to the garden for some dark photography a few nights ago and found my first subject chilling right by the front door. Just around the corner were two others of the same species.
These tree-climbing and ground-dwelling Australian frogs can quickly change colour, ranging from pale green-grey by day, to a reddish brown with emerald green flecks at night. They are a protected species here in New South Wales.
55 mm body length

Peron's tree frog, the emerald-spotted tree frog, the emerald-speckled tree frog, the laughing tree frog, or the maniacal cackle frog is a common Australian tree frog of the family Hylidae.
