Hairy line-blue Within family Lycaenidae (blues and coppers), this diminutive butterfly can be seen flying during daylight hours. Its range is along most of the east coast of Australia and New Guinea. <br />

Hairy Line Blue Females, as seen here, are brown on top with a large white patch on each forewing, and a blue sheen near the hinges and the hindwings. Underneath, the wings are fawn with arcs of darker markings. A black eye-spot at the tornus and a small tail at the hindwing tornus. The females also have a large white patch under each forewing. <br />

    1. All these years, I've only managed to capture that split second moment a few times with butterflies in this family! They open and close their wings so very fast and are so small themselves. Posted 4 years ago

''Erysichton lineata'', the hairy line blue, is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in New Guinea and along most of the eastern coast of Australia, from Queensland to New South Wales.
