Wood Frogs - Lithobates sylvaticus
The frogs were so loud in my neighborhood last night that I decided to go for a midnight stroll through my neighborhood to see what was up. I probably saw around 100 wood frogs, at least half of which were mating -- in grass, on sidewalks, in a parking garage, and even in storm drains. Sadly, some had been squished by cars.
Habitat: Semi-rural area

The wood frog has a broad distribution over North America, extending from the Boreal forest of Canada and Alaska to the southern Appalachians, with several notable disjunct populations including lowland eastern North Carolina.
