  1. This cute little fluffball has a tiny range in northern Peru, and the Fundo Alto Nieva is probably the best place to see it, along with several other species that are restricted to the region.
    There usually is a pair that visits a worm feeder, but they were nesting during my visit and rarely came by the feeder. Fortunately, we managed to track down another pair in the forest!

The ochre-fronted antpitta is a species of bird in the family Grallariidae. It is endemic to Peru. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.
