Brachycerus lutosus Gyllenhal, 1833 is a Weevil (superfamily Curculionoidea) known from parts of southern Europe and east to the Caucasus. The classification at family level is still somewhat disputed, with some authors putting these in a separate family Brachyceridae, while others prefer to retain these in the family Curculionidae, subfamily Brachycerinae.
