Wood Mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus)
There I was, phaffing around in my garage late last night, when this supposedly shy and secretive little thing pops out right in front of me to help itself to a little snack.
I gabbed my phone for a short video and after it ran back behind my tumble dryer, I did what any responsible householder does when faced with a mouse in the house;
I decanted the sunflower hearts into a shallower container, to make it a little easier for the little'un the next time.
How cute is THIS?

The wood mouse is a common murid rodent from Europe and northwestern Africa. It is closely related to the yellow-necked mouse but differs in that it has no band of yellow fur around the neck, has slightly smaller ears, and is usually slightly smaller overall: around 90 mm in length.

This supposedly shy and secretive mouse popped out despite knowing I was there.
