Emerald Ash Borer (Agrilus planipennis)
Both adults that I found were dead and were in the process of chewing their way out of the tree when they died. I don't know why they didn't make it and if this is a common thing. Maybe they died from predation? I'm really not sure.
Habitat: Ash tree; deciduous forest
Similar species: Beetles
