Lichens!

These lichens are growing on a tree in my yard. I can't believe that I have never looked at them before.

Habitat: Hardwood tree; Semi-rural yard

  Seven, I think. I photographed them separately and am working on IDs. This tree is so skinny and unimpressive -- just near the edge of the yard. I never inspected it until now. There's some other lichens higher up in the branches that look like Usnea. Posted 4 years ago
