Yellow Slug (Limacus flavus)
'Slugs' is generally a dirty word to many, images of plant destroying pests and slimy trails, in most people's minds.
Some like the Yellow slug however, are distinctly beneficial to gardeners, and all are important links in the food chain to more cuddly favourites like the hedgehog.
OK, cuddly, might be overdoing it, but you'll get my drift.
What's not to like about this fellow, cleaning up your garden as you sleep?
''Limacus flavus'', known commonly as the cellar slug, the yellow slug, or the tawny garden slug, is a medium to large species of air-breathing land slug, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Limacidae.
