    1. Thanks! I thought 'how can I present one of the most commonly seen birds in a unique way?'. You want pigeons - Rome or Venice is your place to be, truly staggering numbers. I'm from the UK and they blow Trafalgar Square in London (famous for its pigeon population) out of the water. Posted 4 years ago

The Domestic Pigeon was derived from the Rock Pigeon. The Rock Pigeon is the world's oldest domesticated bird. Mesopotamian cuneiform tablets mention the domestication of pigeons more than 5,000 years ago, as do Egyptian hieroglyphics.
