Not the best photo, the light was fading, high ISO...all those excuses! It may be plain and it may be common, but I think it is a lovely bird!

  1. Not so common to JungleDragon, since this is a species intro :)

    I remember on one of our first days in Madagascar seeing a Drongo for the first time. Approaching it with great interest and afraid to miss the moment. Only later I learned they are everywhere. Doesn't matter....still a lovely bird.

The Fork-tailed Drongo, also called the Common Drongo, African Drongo, or Savanna Drongo , is a drongo, a type of small passerine bird of the Old World tropics. The species was earlier considered to cover Asia, but the Asian species is now called the Black Drongo . They are members of the family Dicruridae.
