Pyralid or snout moth - Hednota species near grammellus The genus Hednota has about 60 named species.  Some of them are similar looking moths with a series of longitudinal yellow-brown and silver-white streaks on the forewing. They are hard to tell apart even with a bunch of specimens and a microscope to look them over in detail. <br />

  2. Chrysoteuchia culmella would be out of range. Try comparing it to Hednota grammellus.

''Hednota grammellus'' is a moth in the family Crambidae. It was described by Zeller in 1863. It is found in Australia, where it has been recorded from New South Wales and Victoria.

The forewings are white with a pattern of brown lines.
