Bateleur Eagle in Antwerp zoo
It's feeding time for this Bateleur Eagle in the Antwerp zoo. It is bending over a young chick which it has secured in its claws.
Quick post processing tip: this bird is behind bars and one of them was blocking the view as a blurred line on the photo. By making a rough paint selection in Lightroom, and increasing the contrast on it, it dissapeared mostly.
The Bateleur is a medium-sized eagle in the bird family ''Accipitridae'' which also includes many other diurnal raptors such as buzzards, kites and harriers. It is the only member of the genus ''Terathopius'' and probably the origin of the "Zimbabwe bird", national emblem of Zimbabwe.
