  1. A great series of shots! They made me smile, all the washing and expressions captured. Can't get past a hare image without thinking of dear old Bigwig from Richard Adams' Watership Down I first read at age 10. Such a character, he remains imprinted on my mind to this day. Posted 4 years ago
    1. Thank you Ruth. I was fortunate able to walk up to about 25m whilst the 3 slept and then this one was just so cute. I must've read Watership Down about the same time "PigVig" I think Kehaar called him. Great book. Posted 4 years ago

The European hare, also known as the brown hare, eastern jackrabbit and eastern prairie hare, is a species of hare native to northern, central, and western Europe and western Asia. It is a mammal adapted to temperate, open country. It is related to the similarly appearing rabbit, which is in the same family but a different genus. It breeds on the ground rather than in a burrow and relies on speed to escape.
