    1. This was a hitchhiker who didn't want to leave, giving us plenty of time to take all the photos we wanted. From this angle it looks like most of one of the legs is missing. It didn't seem to bother it though, it had no problem holding despite the strong wind. Posted 12 years ago
      1. One time before I had a butterfly stick to my clothes, and no matter what I did, it returned to it. Strange, because in 99% of all cases, I experience butterflies as very nervous, always escaping me. Probably they confuse the clothing with something else? Posted 12 years ago
        1. Butterflies have poor sight and like other insects see colours in a different way. I found some interesting explanations about the butterfly's perception of the surrounding.

          If we stay still long enough, they don't see us as a threat anymore and come to check up on us. What they look for is salt and other minerals.

The Southern White Admiral (Limenitis reducta) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is found in Northern Spain, South and Eastern France, Italy, the Balkans and the Alps.
