The moth is brown with a wavy green pattern on the forewings. It has a tuft of hairs on the head. It rests with its wings held in a steep roof shape Caterpillars are smooth and green.
Size -wingspan to 4cm. caterpillar length about 3 cm.

The green blotched moth is a moth of the family Noctuidae. It is found in New South Wales, Norfolk Island, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia and New Zealand.

The wingspan is about 40 mm. The larvae feed on ''Lobelia'' species, ''Verbena'' species and ''Wahlenbergia'' species.
