        1. Thank you, yes. There is the same vegetation at altitude and at a lower latitude than in northern England, but they've maintained many of the flowers that we've lost - some like the eryngium need a dryer climate than here so it is is different but a lot of the flora appears to have been taken over by the horticulturalists e.g. the Linum, Colchicum, Linaria, Digitalis, Prunella, Dianthus & the aforementioned Eryngium. When I've been trying to identify flowers, as you say, there appears to be sparse reporting (except alpine garden society reports) and only a relatively small internet knowledge pool, as all the "oxygen of knowledge" appears to have been sucked up by the garden varieties and hybrids. (my view). Still a couple more flowers to come. Cheers, David Posted 4 years ago
