  1. Is this a houseplant? I'm wondering how easy they are to maintain. Posted 4 years ago

      Hi Christine
I found these in a garden and have never grown them before. I understand they are native to the USA however grow well here in Australia.
The link above talks about their growing conditions and maintenance

      1. Oh, thanks! It's so sweet of you to share that link. I have 2 carnivorous plants as houseplants, but not a VFT. I assumed this was a houseplant, but forgot that you live in paradise where these can grow outside. Posted 4 years ago

The Venus flytrap , ''Dionaea muscipula'', is a carnivorous plant native to subtropical wetlands on the East Coast of the United States. It catches its prey—chiefly insects and arachnids— with a trapping structure formed by the terminal portion of each of the plant's leaves and is triggered by tiny hairs on their inner surfaces.
