European wasps are bright yellow and have a black banded abdomen, and a pair of black spots on each yellow band.<br />
European wasps have two pairs of clear wings with the first pair larger.<br />
They have black antennae and fly with their legs held close to the body.<br />
Their size is between 12&ndash;16mm.<br />

"Vespula germanica" is a species of wasp found in much of the Northern Hemisphere, native to Europe, Northern Africa, and temperate Asia. It has spread and become well-established in many other places, including North America, South America, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand.
