  1. Interesting , but a sneaky ambush bug Posted 4 years ago
    1. Yes, indeed. It chose a perfect spot! Posted 4 years ago
  2. Awesome find! Posted 4 years ago
    1. Thanks! This bug was a little piggy-pants with such a stockpile. Although, maybe the dead insects in the flower were its previous meals and not still uneaten. Either way, it reminds me of the COVID toilet paper hoarding from last year. Posted 4 years ago
      1. Heh, yes. And the victims seem really large.

And hoarding...some idiot posted a photo on social media about empty shelfs in the supermarket. Because the weather is so bad that delivery is failing. Picked up by news channels and now the country is like...what? empty shelfs??? Better stock up!

        1. Yes! Bugs love these flowers, which is why I like to check them out. It's like a treasure hunt. But, I've never found a cache like this and was impressed by the size of the prey. Ambush bugs are tough guys for sure.

Ohhh nooo. Hope you have enough groceries already, especially hagelslag. And, cat treats. How much snow did you end up getting? It's snowing here too today - we expect 15 cm or more.

          1. We got plenty of food, no worries. And our little town has a lot of grocery stores.
I think we got some 10cm today. A lot for us, but not spectacular I guess. The unusual thing is that it will persist as it won't get above zero for at least a week.

            1. That's a respectable amount! Maybe work will be canceled tomorrow (er, today?) because of the snow! Posted 4 years ago
              1. For that to happen, the internet as a whole should crash. Posted 4 years ago
                1. Lol, the joy of having a tech job. No snow days for you. Sorry! Posted 4 years ago
