  1. Gorgeous! Posted 4 years ago
    1. Thanks Christine, I remember it seemed to lend itself to the scale of the place Posted 4 years ago
  2. So cool to see one in a natural setting. And what a rugged setting, tenacious plant. We have these growing here in Australia, (also Brugmansia) as ornamentals - which I can't believe given the toxicity. Freely planted both in public parks and home gardens. My sister in law has a Brugmansia either side of her front door, she had no idea of its potential toxicity! Posted 4 years ago
    1. Thanks, they are very hardy and beautiful. I think I was taught early on that the datura is toxic, but we're probably lucky in that any in UK have to be indoors and so anyone who had one automatically gave out the warning. When we were in Utah/Arizona there was also much talk of shamanic use by the Navajo. Never thought it worth it. Posted 4 years ago

"Datura wrightii" or sacred datura is the name of a poisonous perennial plant and ornamental flower of southwestern North America. It is sometimes used as a hallucinogen. "D. wrightii" is classified as a deliriant and an anticholinergic.
