Snake mantis nymph
This is the tiniest snake mantis nymph I've ever seen, no more than 20 mm body length! The markings threw me at first in regard species as I've never seen any like that - but this has been confirmed by entomologists as Kongobatha diademata. I was told that many mantises will vary in colour, especially as nymphs, usually to do with their surroundings.
I was only able to get this dorsal shot this time, but I think it shows the unique markings nicely.

This mantis species is restricted to the East Coast of Australia, Is difficult to find due to its small size (little more than 2.5cm/1 in for an adult) and pale green coloration that closely matches the leaf color of many Eucalyptus and Angophora species where it locates.
